Which peel is right for me?
There are different types of peels which differ in their strength and intensity. The lightest peels are alha hydroxy acids. Initially a consultation is required so that your skin can be assessed by a cosmetic clinic skin specialist who can then develop a skin programme with you and advise you of specific treatments for your skin type and tailor it to target specific problem areas.

Can TCA peels be performed on areas other than the face?
Often other parts of the body are sun damaged and age with the face, in particular the hands, neck and chest. The TCA peels can be used to treat other parts of the body as well as the face.

Can I resume normal activities after the TCA medium peel?
You can absolutely carry on with your normal day to day life! You will need to wear sun protection (provided with the home pack) for the next 6weeks as your skin will be more sensitive and susceptible to the suns effects during this time.

Is the peel painful?
You may feel a mild tingling sensation during the application of the peel, this is the peel penetrating and treating your skin.

How should I prepare for my glycolic medical peel?
For the glycolic acid peel, following an intial consultation, you will be given a specific products two weeks prior to your treatment to prepare the skin. This conditions the skin and ensures an even peel.The preparation before a peel is not necessary but can improve the results post peel. The areas to be treated should not be exfoliated or shaved for two days prior to the peel.

How should I prepare for my TCA peel?
No preparation is required before the TCA peel. It can even be applied on top of make up though it is recommended the skin is cleansed prior to peel application.

What is the downtime of the chemical peels?
The 'downtime' is the time period during which the skin starts to peel and dead cells flake off. There is a misconception that peels will keep you from being out in public for weeks. There are a variety of different types of peels available For a busy working professional, a series of mild peels can be done that will have te same effect as a single stronger peel. On the whole, the recovery time is minimal, and you can carry on with your day to day life as normal.
